
IPG Photonics Corporation, a global leader in fiber laser technology, has been honored with the 2026 SPIE Prism Award in the Lasers category.
Each year, the SPIE Prism Awards showcase the rapid development trajectory, exciting latest advancements, and abundant technological innovations in the photonics and related industries. This year’s annual awards ceremony recognized established and emerging enterprises that have solved critical challenges through innovative solutions across fields including cameras and imaging systems, sensors, lasers, quantum technologies, extended reality (XR), and biophotonic instruments.
Finalists and winners were selected by an international judging panel that brings together expertise and insights from technology commercialization and financing. The distinguished judges, representing eight countries, include representatives from government agencies, corporate executives, academic researchers, and industry leaders.
The award-winning product is an innovative 8 kW compact single-mode laser source with an M² value of < 1.1. This laser fully embodies 35 years of continuous laser technology innovation at IPG and will revolutionize the industrial single-mode laser landscape. Featuring world-leading brightness and diffraction-limited beam quality, this compact high-power laser source not only delivers higher precision for existing applications but also opens up entirely new application possibilities across numerous industry sectors.
